Palacio Bellas de Artes – Mexico City

Palacio de Bellas Artes

In early February 2025, my wife and I enjoyed an immersion into the beauty of Mexico City or Ciudad de Mexico (CDMX), formerly known as Distrito Federal (DF), it is the capital of Mexico – the nation of  United Mexican States. It is located in the center of the country, in an area known as the Valley of Mexico. Greater Mexico City, or the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico, is a region with a population nearly 22 million residents. It  is the second most populated metropolitan area in Latin America and one of the top six most populous cities in the world. The city is located at an elevation of 2,240 meters  or 7,350 feet above sea level. (Hydrate for three days before you go!).

We reside in Queretaro, Mexico – the third most populous city in the country (Guadalajara is second) about a three hour drive north of Mexico City. This trip was our third to explore this seemingly endless mass of mesmerizing culture.

We toured the Palacio de Bellas Artes (Palace of Fine Arts) for several hours one day. Honestly, the magnificent displays of mesmerizing beauty leave you unable to speak. It makes you motionless – unable to move. It is an absolute MUST VISIT destination. Make certain that you tour the interior of the adjoining auditorium.
