Storm Clouds - In Mexico, the rainy season is roughly the end of May to the end of August. It is essential, of course. It clouds up and rains in the late afternoon and is typically over by 11pm. The next morning, the skies are blue and most areas are dry.
Fireworks – Acueducto de los Arcos – Queretaro, MX - I really enjoy fireworks displays. Hope you do too. Recently, we witnessed a spectacular display in Queretaro, Mexico. Querétaro, Mexico celebrated the 300th anniversary of the iconic Acueducto de los Arcos on Saturday, April 25, 2026. The historic milestone was commemorated with a massive, free, outdoor celebration, capped with a phenomenal fireworks display.

We are expats living in Ajijic. We have not had any incidents here. Mexican, American, and Canadians all around us are warm and friendly. The Mexican workers are congenial and honest. We see many families hiking up the mountains on the weekends. Families shopping for flowers and food from small local markets are everywhere. The criminal activities here in one year is comparable to one day of crimes in Florida. It’s unfortunate that only the bad news is reported versus the positive in Ajijic.
